FACADE User Interface Demonstration via Annotated Screen Captures
Please note: This demo walk-through of a set of screenshots of the user interface to FACADE is a work-in-progress.
FACADE Catalog
-
FACADE Catalog: a database of many building projects, with a brief descriptive record of each.
Here are two visually oriented Views: "Carousel" and Timeline. -
Facets are used to constrain search results.
-
The user interface employs the Google Maps web service.
-
Additional facets can be applied, to further constrain the result set.
-
Remove the constraint on Building Type to again widen the Result Set.
FACADE "Exhibit"
-
Initial view of U.S. Institute of Peace user interface ("Exhibit") is in Tiles view.
-
A Timeline was described by the advisory board and many end users as a preferred default view of the documents.
-
The Exhibit Table view permits quick assessment of many entries, with faceted filtering and sorting by column capabilities.
-
Search of the metadata text in the USIP Exhibit is available, as well as a full text search of the larger dataset in the USIP Longwell (which we'll see next).
FACADE "Longwell"
-
Demonstrating similar principle of applying facets, in the Longwell user interface.
-
Longwell Table View is highly configurable by end users.
-
Reviewing results in the Timeline view, then using further facet filtering to reduce the result set to a manageable number.
-
Using the fuller detailed List to review the now manageable set of 20 results.
-
Having found "Buro Happold" as author of a presentation, we use full text search to see if there is more material of interest.
