FACADE User Interface Demonstration via Annotated Screen Captures

Please note: This demo walk-through of a set of screenshots of the user interface to FACADE is a work-in-progress.

FACADE Catalog

FACADE "Exhibit"

  • Initial view of U.S. Institute of Peace user interface ("Exhibit") is in Tiles view.

  • A Timeline was described by the advisory board and many end users as a preferred default view of the documents.

  • The Exhibit Table view permits quick assessment of many entries, with faceted filtering and sorting by column capabilities.

  • Search of the metadata text in the USIP Exhibit is available, as well as a full text search of the larger dataset in the USIP Longwell (which we'll see next).

FACADE "Longwell"

  • Demonstrating similar principle of applying facets, in the Longwell user interface.

  • Longwell Table View is highly configurable by end users.

  • Reviewing results in the Timeline view, then using further facet filtering to reduce the result set to a manageable number.

  • Using the fuller detailed List to review the now manageable set of 20 results.

  • Having found "Buro Happold" as author of a presentation, we use full text search to see if there is more material of interest.
